Am really bored these days , and am not in the mood to blog , may be be cause of the upcoming tests . Anyways, hope that fades away soon .......

The New Seven Wonders Of The World !

In a act than can be called a corporate scam , organized by a Swiss-based, for-profit corporation called New Open World Corporation (NOWC) , u can either vote online on http://www.new7wonders.com/ or vote through phone and that's for free , additional votes have to purchased through a donation to the NOWC. A ceremony will be held in Lisbon on 07-07-2007 to chose the new seven wonders.

Many people opposed the idea of picking new wonders especially here in Egypt stating it's for corporate profit and an indirect way to get the Pyramids of Giza off the picture , frankly i think it's unfair comparing ancient monuments to modern ones . Buildings like the Colosseum , The Pyramids and The Great Walls Of China that survived centuries shouldn't be compared to Sydney's Opera house or the statue of liberty ,well at least that's what i think !

That's how I imagined i should look like . May be I do , at least in my head !

Ernesto "Che" Guevara was born on June 14 , 1928 in Rosario , Argentina , his full name was Ernesto Guevara de la Serna , He is know world wide and in Latin America as "Che" which means "pal" or "friend" , Guevara was a mere medical student until he took a journey with a friend of his on a motorcycle they had , they toured Latin America , this Journey resulted in the great Guevara we all know now , Witnessing the widespread poverty, oppression and disenfranchisement throughout Latin America, and influenced by his readings of Marxist literature, Guevara decided that the only solution for the region’s inequalities was armed revolution. His travels and readings also led him to view Latin America not as a group of separate nations but as a single entity requiring a continent-wide strategy for liberation.

Sorry for the long introduction but it was a must cause many don't know who is Guevara in the first place , and there's nothing wrong in that but what really ticks me off is alot people who don't know Guevara wear T-shirts with Guevara logo printed on it , stick his posters to their cars or even use his pic as a display pic online and they don't even know the guy's name, I mean what the hell ! the guy spent his life standing for what he believes in , fighting for his cause and this how his pic is being treated , at least know where he was born . I remember this time my friend told me , he was standing with a guy he barely know and he had the Guevara sticker on his car and the they were talking and the whole Guevara topic came up and the guy said " am not sure where is he from ,Oh yeah , he's Russian " !!!!!!!!!

I can't deny that the Guevara logo on T-shirts or car badges or whatever look cool , the famous pic was taken by Alberto Korda , It was called later the most famous photograph in the world and a symbol of the 20Th century , But at least know something or two about the guy on your shirt or on your car's bumper at least to honour the man who lost his life for his believes. And i meet many people who attack Guevara just for the fun of it or just to feel unique and that's plain stupidity . You can disagree with the guy's methods or believes but u still have to respect him , talking about him with disrespect won't change the fact that he is a rebel , a symbol to all the people around the world , it just makes you look shallow and empty headed .
