Poseidon R.I.P.

Ever since i was a little kid i wanted to get a pet , but my parents weren't actually the having pets kinda people , they kept talkin' about how it is a huge responsibility and it needs time and effort and so , and they are already spending theirs on me and my brother , so i just forgot about the whole thing.But 6 months ago , a friend of mine got a pet turtle , it was tiny ,green and cute , and it's easy to feed and take care of so i thought why not , and that was how i got Poseidon.

I kept him in small plastic tank containing water , and used to feed .My mom kinda freaked out when she saw it first , then eventually she started to love him , she was the one who feed him , changes the water for him and so , and surprisingly my dad and grandfather did too.

But as we all know good things must come to and end , i found him dead in his tank yesterday , he wasn't moving , it was really sad , i actually miss the green little fellow , he wasn't as annoying and demanding as most pets are . Anyway R.I.P. Poseidon , you shall be missed .

It's just two days till "Eid EL Fitr", People re buying new clothes , traveling or doing whatever they planned to , and all i can think of is that line Al-Mutanabbi said :

عيــدٌ بِأيَّـةِ حـالٍ عُـدتَ يـا عِيـدُ+++بِمــا مَضَـى أَم لأَمْـرٍ فِيـكَ تجـدِيدُ

Am stuck here under piles and piles of books, notes and paper , anyway Just wishing you all a happy Eid !

Back

Wow.... I haven't been here for a while , months maybe ... i really don't know why but i didn't have this urge to write anything or blog , may be it's due to the fact i had an exam coming or something , i really don't have a clue.Since i don't got anything in mind to write about i 'll just improvise , let's see what happened since the last time i posted here.

Many of my friends are getting engaged which is kinda unsettling , more people are graduated and moving on , some of them are actually working now , life keeps moving on .Am getting more and more addicted to facebook , i spend a lot of time checkin' my profile , managing my groups , inviting people, checking people's new photos, and that's unhealthy .Another thing the results of the secondary stage of education appeared , my brother got 99.9% and he's actually going to Med. school , good luck with that ! , and i finally got myself to go and search for a new hard disk and monitor for my PC , i got a new 19' inch LCD monitor YaaaaY ! , now i can actually enjoy shows, anime and games in their real colour , my old one used to have to supply me with a limited choices of colours either yellow, red or green !

I had my internal medicine round exam 2 days ago , I was literally freaking out before the exam , it's a clinical exam in which is consisted of 5 spots , each contain a patient and 2 questions , one about the patient and the other about anything else in medicine , i started studying a week before the test or may be more , i finished the stuff am supposed to study for the test and yet it seemed that the stuff i read is not enough , Also another problem was the cardiology case , i can't just hear the patent's heart and know what's wrong with him , it take doctors years of practice to be able to do it , and anyways they got X-ray and Echo now which really made it easy to know whats wrong with the patent's heart , anyways i tried to know the cases before the exam but it was a failure , and i actually went in without having a single idea what am about to see , but i was rescued at the last minute , there was this nice resident who helped us during the exam , and we actually did good. Now i have another test in about 2 or 3 weeks then after that i got to prepare for the finals , so am preparing for a whole new level o crap !

My Big Fat Medical Delusion Part I

It all happened more than 5 years ago, i was still in high school ( Thanwaya 3ama ) , it was this stage of your life where the rest of your life depends on your actions and the decisions you make in this two years , that's the stupidest system anyone can wish for , but never mind the system am not talking about it , in this phase of my life i was addicted to two TV series ; "ER" and "LA Doctors" which you can from the titles they are about doctors pursuing their medical careers, watching these shows i realized that it would be really nice to become a doctor , always on the run saving patients and having a great role in life , and in the end of the day you feel satisfied about yourself cause u mane a change in someone's life , may be a family's life !

The day came and the results was out , mine were good ; it gave me the possibility to join anything i want , so logically as any Egyptian secondary stage student with good results my choices were what they called the Top Colleges which were 3 in my case :Medicine , Dentistry and Pharmacy . i had my my sight onto Dentistry since i was in high school cause it's not as hard as Med school and many of my friends had the same goal so back then we all had decided Dentistry it is BUT after the results came out almost all of my friends bailed on the Dentistry idea, only one didn't . And for me at that time i saw no difference between Med school and Dentistry , at least with Med school i would have more options later on , but with dentistry there weren't any other alternatives , you can only become a dentist. Plus having both parents in the medical field they kept going on and on about how it's so good being a doctor and how people always tend to exaggerate and that Med school is not that hard , and it's a place where u need to work hard to get good scores like anywhere else , so after a lot of thinking i decided it's gonna be Med. School .

The big day finally came , my first day as a college freshman , and i had this Soap opera's version of university , a place with many vast green spaces , many shady areas , it's like hangin' out with your friends , people wearing their best outfits ( I had to wear a school uniform for 13 years) , and people socializing and having a good time , only they have to attend lectures and section But at wasn't anywhere near that , it was the farthest thing from that . There was no vast green spaces , neither shady areas and the weather wasn't fine all the time , it was too damn hot and sun every everywhere , no cafes or places to chill , People weren't socializing , actually people were divided in these groups which were like private clubs , you can't join it's only for members kinda act , and you find this strange peculiar kind of people , the second the lectures end , you don't find anyone there , they just vanish ! not to mention that people wore a depressing set of colours consisted of black,grey, navy , Paige and all the other unpleasant colours . Just by walking there you can sense the essence of the doomed place , people looking unhappy not a single smile on any one's face , everyone is worried and under stress , too much adrenaline in the air. And after some time people stop caring about their appearance , they lose the interest , they start wearing anything no matter how hideous or unmatching they look , it doesn't matter anymore !

And you actually find that people treat college doctors like gods , he may run you over with his car and yet you can't complain cause they have the keys to your entire future , by a single word a doctor can ruin your entire life , they control everything . Actually an ophthalmology doctor was this close from flunking me at the orals last year because of my hair gel and my goatee , he just didn't like so for him that was enough, let alone they only judge you by your appearance , i mean for crying out loud he shouldn't be able to do so, and what really pisses me off is that i don't really hate Med. school , i like the stuff they teach us there and really appreciate it , it's just that i know that this could ' ve gone much more better , it could ' ve been more organized , more educational and even more fun , but it's no use crying over spilt milk .

This is how we do it !!!!

Few days ago , i was going back home after colg. when i saw this , a man hanging on a rope or somethin' onto the Clinics' Building in the faculty of dentistry to clean the clinic's logo , and it was really windy , the trees were shaking . he might have just fallen any minute while doing so , that made me wonder that's a guy risking his own life to do this job and it's not even worth it , i bet they don't even pay him enough..... At least they could have made it safer for him..... But why that would kill the fun of it ! and won't be EGYPTIAN enough .....

Things that make me feel good...

It's About stuff that make you feel good , the insignificant little things that have a big effect on your mood and your day , off course there's a personal variation. Anyways, that's what makes me feel good :

- The smell of nescafe in the morning.

- When you wake up in the morning tired in your bed an not ready to get out of the bed , then you find out you still have more hours to sleep so you continue sleeping.


-When u find your fav. movie showing on TV by chance.

-The Feeling you get when you finally remember the name of the song that you ' ve been whistling all day and can't remember it.


-When you know that people said good stuff about you when you weren't there.

-Big family reunions.


-Seeing someone you went to school with and you totally forgot about him/her. ( Brings back a lot of good memories).

-Spending time on your coach in front of a good movie on TV with a hot chocolate in your hand and a blanket wrapped around you in a cold rainy night (That's one of my personal fav.) .


-The feeling you get on doing something for the first time and you find out that you really liked it.

-Movies with twists at the end that leave you saying " man , i didn't see that coming".

Power...

In this world , at the end of the day what matters most is Power because an ant with the best intentions or the most diabolic schemes is still an ant !

Bored..

Am really bored these days , and am not in the mood to blog , may be be cause of the upcoming tests . Anyways, hope that fades away soon .......

The New Seven Wonders Of The World !

His travels and readings also led him to view Latin America not as a group of separate nations but as a single entity requiring a continent-wide strategy for liberation.

Sorry for the long introduction but it was a must cause many don't know who is Guevara in the first place , and there's nothing wrong in that but what really ticks me off is alot people who don't know Guevara wear T-shirts with Guevara logo printed on it , stick his posters to their cars or even use his pic as a display pic online and they don't even know the guy's name, I mean what the hell ! the guy spent his life standing for what he believes in , fighting for his cause and this how his pic is being treated , at least know where he was born . I remember this time my friend told me , he was standing with a guy he barely know and he had the Guevara sticker on his car and the they were talking and the whole Guevara topic came up and the guy said " am not sure where is he from ,Oh yeah , he's Russian " !!!!!!!!!

I can't deny that the Guevara logo on T-shirts or car badges or whatever look cool , the famous pic was taken by Alberto Korda , It was called later the most famous photograph in the world and a symbol of the 20Th century , But at least know something or two about the guy on your shirt or on your car's bumper at least to honour the man who lost his life for his believes. And i meet many people who attack Guevara just for the fun of it or just to feel unique and that's plain stupidity . You can disagree with the guy's methods or believes but u still have to respect him , talking about him with disrespect won't change the fact that he is a rebel , a symbol to all the people around the world , it just makes you look shallow and empty headed .

Lady In The Water , Can it be worse ?!

I know it's a bit old but i just saw the comment i wrote on Imdb.com after seeing the movie and it brought back bad memories , probably the worst movie ever, anyways here's what i wrote :

Well, i dunno what to say but i truly regret the 110 minutes I spent watching this movie, it's simply awful. It started when one of my friends suggested watching the new thriller "Lady in the water" after watching it's trailer, on that doomed day we went to see it and was the tragedy.The people in the movie didn't seem to object or even disbelieve Cleveland (Paul Giamatti) when he told them that he found an nymph and he's helping her to get back to her world and needs to protect her from other creatures that want to kill her (Which was a wolf made of GRASS, yeah am not kidding ,Grass),the people simply agreed to help him without asking !!! Also,What's with the guy using the newspaper's crosswords to help them solving mysteries and making sure they are on the right path (it would turn out next that his son was the one supposed to do so and he was the real symbolist using a pack of cereals WOW), well i dunno if am the only one who feels this way but that's LAME people. The movie that was supposed to be a thriller turned out to be a joke,my friends were laughing in the cinema,all the people were.even one of my friends suggested that at the end of the movie the Director and the actors should come out to apologize to the audience and saying they tried their best to make it a better movie but they couldn't. My advice to anyone don't go to see this movie , you will regret it for the rest of your life .At least i did.

Back !

It has been a while , that's the first time to open my blog in a month or even more . I had problems with my PC but it's over now or that's what I wish for.Anyways am back now and am gonna be writing soon , i 'll try to squeeze it in my busy schedule loooool !

I just woke up, I 'm having breakfast which i don't normally do . Am enjoying the experience of waking up early before I start my busy schedule.usually i wake up late,rush myself through everything i have to do before going out,having no breakfast just a cup of nescafe to function in a proper way.It's nice taking my time enjoying the morning as a change .

Am listening to Dalida's song "Ahsan Nas" which i think is the perfect song to start your day, am not into Arabic music but the song really puts a smile on my face , an actual smile not a figure of speech. i used to love this song then i totally forgot about it , 1 month ago i took a cab , the guy's radio was playing the song, the frown on my face changed into smile and i was this close from singing and dancing in the cab loool , when i got home i searched for the song and i got it.Now whenever am having a bad day day I just listen to it and it works like magic , It's like a legacy they should put it in the same category as the pyramids and sphinx. Yeah .... By the way thank you guys from the MobiNil ad. for ruining the song for me, I won't find it strange if Dalida's ghost haunts you for the rest of your lives . You Deserve it !

Like Finally !

Finally I got Davinci Code , not the movie i mean the novel by Dan Brown. I was planning to read it and I kept saying am gonna get it for the past 2 years, many times my friends wanted to see the movie together and I ruined it cause i wanted to read the novel first. Well... Now i got the book and i will start reading :D , another thing in my To-do list is done.

Can't Sleep

It's 7:44 am , i can't sleep which is probably due to the huge amounts of caffeine i keep bumping into my blood , it's the second day of the new year 2007 which doesn't really feels different from the day before , the day 2 weeks ago and the day 4 months ago,they all feel the same.well, 2 days ago they killed Saddam in the first day of the feast ( Eid EL Adha ) in the same time people should sacrifice the sheep... ironic, the only difference was that they only hung him they didn't use a knife which wouldn't make any difference.

7:50 am now , 5 mins passed still don't have something in mind to talk about. also can't sleep.Hmmm....Lets see... yeah, yesterday on the first day of 2007 I was hanging out with my friends when we saw some guys carrying their friend , they said he lost his consciousness in a fight with other guys, by asking more question the guy had an O.D.,he was 16-17 years old the same as my younger brother, after half an hour of trying to wake him up, he woke up - looked around him and all he wanted to do was to go back to the fight !!!!! , what's wrong with people ?! 10 mins ago he was going to die, now he wants to go fighting !! how stupid is that ?!
Another thing ,when we were trying to wake him up , people gathered around us like we were giving away free stuff. like 40 persons were watching and everyone was trying to get the best seat, from little kids to men and you tell them to keep away and they come more and more , also the guy's friends didn't want us to him to a hospital cause there they will tell the authorities !!! yeah we should leave him to die that will be better than the hospital informing the authorities and telling his parents he was drinking or smoking, Plain stupidity!!!

It's 8:00 am now and i still can't sleep , may be i 'll go watch a movie or something.yeah... movies , Am I the only one to notice or the movies are getting worse and lamer every year , you just see the first 15 mins of the movie and u know what will happen for the nest 120 mins , Hollywood is out of ideas, they are now making remakes for old movie, Guess who ? , king kong and many others and movies are all the same like in action/adventure/horror/thriller movies when they start with a bunch of people which start to get killed later by the monster or the villain or even death itself , the usually remaining people are the main male actor , the main female actor who becomes his gf during the movie and the black guy who they can't kill him for fear of being accused of racism, sometimes if there's a computer/tech geek they let him live, guys looking handsome and acting too cool (beside the leading male actor) in the beginning of the movie always get killed.. that's how most movies go with tiny differences .LAME.... Really Lame.

WoW 8:20 am now, it was nice killing time talking about nothing, my mind is blank and am out of thoughts to write...looks like that's it for today.
